IPOH: Andaman Publications Sdn Bhd's information and communication technology (ICT) software E-Tutor and rounds of seminars have uplifted the standard of English, particularly in Mathematics and Science, in Perak, said renowned educationist Sunny Yee.
Yee said Andaman Publications had 20 E-Tutor books in Mathematics and Science for students from Year One to Form Five.
The company had supplied the E-Tutor books to 115 primary and secondary schools in Perak in the middle this year under the initiative of KPerak Inc Corporation's “Excellence in Mathematics and Science Workshops”, said Yee who is chief editor for the books.
KPerak was formed to realise the state's ICT programme and improve academic achievements in Science and Mathematics.
Yee, who is The Star columnist for Additional Mathematics and Physics, said the programme would contribute to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's vision to increase human capital growth under the North Corridor Economic Region Project.
Abdullah visited an exhibition here by Andaman Publications held in conjunction with the launch of KPerak MSC Cybercentre recently.
Andaman E-Tutor books are written according to the latest school syllabus and enhanced by E-Tutor software called “virtual teacher” that allows students to study in their own time, pace and place.
The full version of the software can be downloaded via the Internet. All E-Tutor books can be purchased at Popular and MPH outlets nationwide or through mail order at www.andamanbook.com.my
