NEWS: Winning tie-up

The Star

IN response to the government’s call to elevate human capital, Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Bhd (MIDF) recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with
Multimedia University (MMU) to start the MIDF Management Associate (MA) programme.

MIDF group managing director Mohd Najib Abdullah said that this is in keeping with the organisation's philosophy to focus on education in all corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The MA programme aims to give selected graduates the chance to carve a successful and fulfilling career with the MIDF Group.

“The MA programme has been set up to meet the needs and aspirations of young Malaysians,” said Mohd Najib.

“Currently, we are on the lookout for 20 high-achieving graduating students from MMU, especially those commencing their final year of studies, who major in various fields.

“We are keen to invite them to join the MIDF family upon graduation.”

MIDF is particularly keen to recruit those with degrees in business administration, marketing, economics, and IT, he added.

Apart from this initiative, MIDF has also tried to enhance human capital capabilities amongst different quarters of society through other CSR programmes.

“For example, earlier this year, we established a study corner for the children of the Sri Sabah flats in Cheras, Selangor,” said Mohd Najib.

“And last month, we presented 50 children in Kota Tinggi, Johor, with basic school necessities such as bicycles, school bags, stationery and pocket money.

“Hopefully, this will help to ease their parents' financial burden,” he added.

The MoU was signed by Mohd Najib and MMU president Prof Dr Zaharin Yusoff.

Also present at the ceremony was MIDF chairman Tan Sri Mahmood Taib.
