It's Objectives

Project Vision

  • To provide a common framework for effectively developing the nation's youth, supporting the Ninth Malaysian Plan for youth development, which will act as the model to its implementation over the next five years.

  • To signal a new dimension in youth development and provide the framework for other national/international development partners to bring their resources to bear in coordinated way.

Overall Project Objectives

  • To foster a thinking and knowledge creation and innovation culture for positive youths' development and a culture for youths' participation in decision making around activities that affect the lives of youths.

  • To inculcate Malaysian values among the youth and produce a generation of caring, peace-loving, and environmentally concerned citizens.

  • To foster lifelong learning culture amongst the youth.

  • To bridge the digital divide, by bridging Internet technology to youth, equipping youth with IT competence and prepare them for the Information Age.

  • To enhance communication and interaction among all stakeholders of schools.

  • To go down to the grassroots, community level to provide access to technological resources where inequalities exist, allowing low-cost or free access to all sorts of computing technologies in an environment supportive of learning and interaction for youth at schools.

Youtheme Concept

From its inception in April 2007, Youtheme Online has defined its business objectives and milestones as follows:
  • A youth portal created to accomodate youth aspiration, expression, actualization, and to promote youth creativity
  • Provides youth aged 15 - 24 with online resources, personal support, and information to assist with the development of their technology and life skills, and provide online tutoring, linkage to personal mentors, monitored chat rooms, email, course-specific educational resources, and up-to-date relevant information; such as extra-curricular activities, access to financial scholarships, special interest groups, etc. All these activities are carried out using portal-like access to other youth services
  • The project involves the building of the e-Community for youth to facilitate the co-ordination and integration of programs, services, and activities geared towards youth development, while recommending and designing programs to enhance and propel youth development in Malaysia and the neighboring regions
  • The project aims to support enhanced interaction between all schools, stakeholders including school administrators, teachers, parents, and students
  • The project also seeks to link up schools in district/region to each other, to the internet, and eventually to other national networks under ONE SINGLE PLATFORM because technology and connectivity can create an exciting learning environment; in which the participants can master educational basics, while learning skills that prepare them for the future
  • Primary functions of this community - Program design & development, Program co-ordination & monitoring, information dissemination.
